Narita to Tokyo: Skyliner or N'EX

Which train from Narita Airport into the city? It depends on where you are staying.

Staying near Ueno or Asakusa, take the Skyliner. Staying near Tokyo Station, Shibuya or Shinjuku, take the N'EX, which needs no change.

  • The Skyliner runs from Ueno to Narita Airport Terminal 2 and 3 in 41 minutes.[1]
  • Every Skyliner seat is reserved, so a seat is guaranteed.[1]
  • The fastest N'EX from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station takes 53 minutes.[2]
  • The N'EX runs without a change to Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku and Yokohama.[2]
  • The N'EX return ticket is valid for 14 days. If you fly home within that, the return is the better buy.[2]
  • From 6 to 8 November 2026 some N'EX services are suspended. Arriving then, look at the Skyliner first.[2]

With heavy luggage and a hotel far from a station, look at the airport limousine bus to your hotel before either train.
