§ Background

Born in Korea and raised between Korea, the US, and the UK, I later worked across London, Singapore, New York, Milan, and Madrid.

Living in those places changed how I look at things. You start to notice what each country does unusually well. Italian homeware. German design. Swiss tools. British lighting. Japanese stationery. American workwear. Scandinavian wood.

Not everything made abroad is better.

Most things are not worth the shipping, the wait, or the extra cost.

But some are. Some objects are better at the source. Better made, better priced, harder to find elsewhere, or simply more honest than the version sold through global retail.

Worth Importing is where I keep track of those objects.

Each find is judged the same way:

Would I still want it after the effort of getting it here?

Usually, the answer is no.

The site is for the few times the answer is yes.
